Adding and deleting redirects

cPanel allows you to setup URL redirects. A redirect will allow you to redirect visitors from a part of your website to another URL. This can be useful when you have moved a website's page, by sending them from the old location to the new page. This demonstration shows how to add and remove redirects from your account.

Simply follow the simple instructions below.

  1. Select the Redirects link.

  2. Complete the following instructions.
    • Enter the folder or page you wish to redirect from in the first box, you may leave this blank to redirect the site's main page.
    • Enter the URL the redirect should forward your visitors to in the second box.
    • Select the type of redirect you wish to use (temporary or permanent), this will effect how search engines understand the redirect. Search Engines will change your listing for permanent redirections.
    • Click the Add button.

  3. You have now added a redirect, lets go back and look at how we delete the redirect we just created. Select the Go Back button.

  4. Select the redirect you wish to delete and click the Remove button.

  5. Well Done! You have successfully deleted a redirect. This concludes this demonstration.
